BIO-key announces customer wins for its ID Director solution

BIO-key International has been selected by a global firearms manufacturer and Department of Defense contractor to deliver a compliant biometric authentication solution for access to workstations and kiosk’s within their manufacturing facilities.

Organizations operating in highly regulated industries must meet NIST SP800-171 multi-factor compliance guidelines for accessing unclassified government documents and applications online. BIO-key’s ID Director for Windows and PIV-PRO, a FIPS 140-2 certified fingerprint reader, enable this customer to deploy multi-factor biometric authentication to increase online security.

“Government and other highly regulated industries are finding fingerprint biometric authentication to be the least invasive and most cost effective way to address the NIST SP800-171 multi-factor requirement,” explains Barbara Rivera, COO, BIO-key. “Fingerprint authentication emerges as the fastest, most secure and most convenient option when organizations and individuals measure the performance and utilization preferences of various authentication methods.”

BIO-key also revealed that it was recently selected by a medical device and data management solutions provider to increase the authentication security and operational efficiency of system sign-in and digital e-signatures throughout their manufacturing process. ID Director for Windows integrates biometric sign-in so users can quickly and securely access desktops and manufacturing systems on any authorized PC across the network. The global firm has over 25,000 employees and serves customers in more than 100 countries.

In other company news, Michael DePasquale, BIO-key’s chairman and CEO, will present at this year’s Marcum Microcap Conference on June 15th in New York City. DePasquale will also be available throughout the day for investor meetings. This event is a nationally recognized forum for publicly traded companies with less than $500 million in market capitalization to network with fund managers and high net worth investors who focus on small cap equities.
