Kensington fingerprint solution wins new product of the year award

The Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint Key has earned the Security Today 2017 New Product of the Year Award in the Access Control – Biometrics category.

The Security Today New Product of the Year Award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security. More than 100 entries were received in the ninth successful year of the independently juried contest. Winners were honored in 40 product award categories.

“The new Product of the Year contest gives us a terrific sampling of security solutions, but what is more amazing each year is the technical savvy that comes along with new products,” commented Ralph C. Jensen, editor in chief of Security Today magazine. “Our New Product of the Year contest allows forward-thinking manufacturers to be able to share their vision of security.”

The Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint Key was made generally available in May and supports both Windows Hello and FIDO universal second factor authentication. The key offers 360-degree readability with anti-spoofing technology and fingerprint activated collaboration capabilities and allows users without a fingerprint sensor in their computers to use the more secure biometric login that Windows Hello affords without having to replace their laptop.
