HID Global launched the HID Approve app, the company’s next generation multi-factor authentication solution, this past week at GITEX 2017 in Dubai.

The app adds a new level of trust for consumers and employees to securely transact online via their mobile devices.

HID Global also demonstrate HID Location services, its predictive analytics for workplace optimization for the first time in the Middle East.

“Trusted identities are increasingly being employed to help organizations secure, customize and enhance the user experience across a growing range of industry segments that are embracing the power of the IoT,” said Miguel Braojos, VP of global sales for IAM Solutions at HID Global. ”HID Global is delivering the next generation of multifactor authentication capabilities to help increase cybersecurity for digital business and help enterprises improve customer and employee satisfaction.”

HID Global exhibited its broad portfolio of Trusted Identity and Access Management solutions which included live demonstrations of the HID Approve app and HID Location Services and offered attendees a hands-on understanding of how to address real-world secure identity issues.

The company also launched and exhibited its latest eco-friendly Secure Card Issuance solutions and service.

HID Global demonstrated next-generation two-factor authentication through HID Approve that converts a mobile device into a mobile validation device or “authenticator” and verifies online access and transaction requests, such as digital banking transactions or corporate VPN access.

Through the combination of public key-based cryptography and push technology, HID Approve generates a new experience for customers of banks, retailers and healthcare providers as well as between employees and enterprise or organizations.

HID Location Services is designed for workplace optimization by addressing a growing market need for accurate, real-time location of an organization’s workforce.

By combining Internet of Things (IoT) technology with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi and cloud-based solutions, organizations can gain increased visibility into the location of their workforce in a facility.

This makes it possible to analyse room usage for better building management and increased operational efficiency.

Future applications can include developing automation capabilities, security features and capabilities that facilitate life safety management and compliance.

“HID Approve is a game-changer and will transform secure digital transactions, to significantly simplify and empower consumers to better protect their finances, reduce fraud and have peace of mind,” Braojos said. “Gitex gives us a platform to educate organisations on benefits of the solution that help their customers to be more confident and have more control over who is accessing their confidential and proprietary information.”

Previously reported, HID Global acquired government ID solutions firm Arjo Systems SAS for an undisclosed amount, expanding HID Global’s capabilities to deploy electronic identification (eID) and ePassport solutions for government programs.
