Beginning this week, Delta Sky Club members with CLEAR membership can use their fingerprints to enter all fifty U.S. Delta Sky Club locations.

According to the announcement, Delta Biometrics is made possible through CLEAR. The service is free for Delta Sky Club members who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and has the potential of streamlining check-in for millions of club visits each year. For Delta Sky Club members without a CLEAR membership, enrolment is available at the CLEAR enrollment kiosk located in fourteen Delta Sky Club locations across the country.

Launching Delta Biometrics across a single touch point builds on the airline’s ongoing, optional biometric testing over the past year, including Delta Sky Club check-in at DCA and ATL B Concourse, boarding at DCA and bag drop at MSP. U.S.-based Delta SkyMiles Members also have enjoyed exclusive rates for CLEAR membership, including complimentary memberships for Diamond Medallion Members, since June 2016.

Delta Biometrics features a new, enhanced scanner that was designed in response to employee and customer feedback throughout the testing phase. The scanner includes the following features: ergonomic finger supports and angled fingerprint reader to optimize hand angle and promote successful scans; intuitive sound and lighting check-in response for customers and ambassadors, and; a re-designed, sleeker device that was custom-built around the encrypted fingerprint reader.

“CLEAR is thrilled to continue partnering with Delta to help facilitate a frictionless travel experience through this new check-in option powered by CLEAR’s secure, proven technology,” said Caryn Seidman-Becker, CLEAR’s co-founder and CEO.

CLEAR opens in three new MLB stadiums

CLEAR also recently announced the expansion of the CLEAR network to three new Major League Baseball (MLB) stadiums, Atlanta Braves’ SunTrust Park, Oakland Athletics’ Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, and Safeco Field, home to the Seattle Mariners. CLEAR’s platform is now used by eleven professional sports teams within MLB, the NBA and MLS.

CLEAR’s one-time enrollment connects members to any touch point in the nationwide network of 35 sports stadiums and airports. Members get expedited entry into games by enrolling for free at any of CLEAR’s sports locations. CLEAR is also developing new biometrics-powered stadium experiences, including ticketing and concessions.

The company is also working with the State of Washington to deploy biometric age validation at WA-based venues this year, which can enable frictionless alcohol sales. CLEAR will pursue expanding availability of this product to more states in the coming months.
