CMITech partners with Gemalto Colombia for automated border control project

CMITech’s EF-45 iris recognition system was successfully deployed in the newly launched BIOMIG program under the auspices of Migración Colombia. CMITech partnered with Gemalto Colombia SA, the prime contractor, system integrator and solution provider for this project, which was launched to the public in December 2017.

BIOMIG is an automated border control program (ABC) for trusted travelers, and utilizes the EF-45 on the automated eGate passenger control lanes as well as at enrollment stations. The EF-45 is an integrated iris recognition terminal that displays the user’s face on a high resolution 5.0 inch touchscreen display during positioning.

“We are highly pleased to have been selected as the biometrics technology partner for this program,” said Dr. JJ Chae, CEO of CMITech. “Migración Colombia’s BIOMIG program marks a milestone in the use of iris biometrics in an automated, expedited immigration control application.”

CMITech showcased the EF-45 iris recognition terminal earlier this year at Intersec Dubai 2017.
