Dermalog face recognition system matches 1B faces per second

Biometrics manufacturer Dermalog announced today its facial recognition system matches one billion faces per second. Independent testing, auditing and certification firm SGS-TÜV Saar has certified the system’s speed.

This news follows up the biometric speed record the company set for fingerprint matching earlier this month.

“These outstanding achievements are the result of decades of research and make us the innovation leader in the most important fields of biometric identification,” says Dermalog CEO Günther Mull. “The fact that multiple biometric features can be compared in record time also proves our leading role in multimodal biometrics, which is becoming increasingly important.”
