BIO-key names distributor of its biometric bike locks for Japan

BIO-key has entered into an agreement with Asahi Cycle for the distribution of BIO-key’s line of biometrics-enabled bicycle locks throughout Japan, with the potential to expand distribution across Asia. TouchLock Bike offers biometric security in an easy to use bicycle lock.

“TouchLock Bike is a highly convenient and secure tool to protect bicycle assets with the owners fingerprint and/or via a Bluetooth code, therefore eliminating the need for a key or a combination,” explained Asahi Cycle Co. President Masahiko Hoshihara. “We will debut our newest bicycle model along with BIO-key’s Bicycle locks in our combined booth at LIFESTYLE EXPO TOKYO.”

“Bicycle theft is a rampant phenomenon in large cities, and BIO-key’s innovative bicycle locks offer a robust and convenient solution,” added Wong Kwok Fong, Managing Director, BIO-key Hong Kong Limited. “We look forward to working with Asahi to support additional bicycle lock sales and to expand awareness of this solution across Asia.”

BIO-key’s TouchLock line of biometric and Bluetooth enabled padlocks and bicycle locks were recently showcased at the Global Sources Gifts & Home Show in Hong Kong.
