Megazone’s Mine Pass FIDO certified
Korean cloud service provider Megazone has announced that its Mine Pass service access solution has been certified as compliant with the FIDO Universal Authentication Framework (UAF) in interoperability testing.
Mine Pass enables users to access services online from desktop or mobile environments with biometrics instead of passwords, and protects biometric data by decoupling it and separating local and remote authentication, according to the announcement. Other authentication methods are supported by Mine Pass, and Megazone provides QR interface samples and guidelines for pc to app transactions to ensure scalability while reducing authentication cost and time.
“Utilizing Megazone’s Mine Pass, we will be able to customize development and deployment to meet the needs of enterprise customers in addition to SaaS services in the future, and will provide customers with a market-proven solution that has been officially accredited by FIDO,” said Max Lee, CSO of Megazone Corporation.
The FIDO Alliance recently announced a round of certifications which brought the number of products in the authentication ecosystem to 465. The FIDO Korea Working Group reported earlier this year that adoption of the digital identity standard has been strong in the country, led by its financial institutions.
