CLEAR opens office in Austin

Biometric identity membership platform CLEAR this week opened its first corporate development office outside of New York in Austin, Texas.

The new hub office will focus on developing technologies for CLEAR’s airport and stadium business. CLEAR’s Austin office will bring 30 new jobs to the region, including those in software engineering and development and operations. CLEAR currently has over 25 employees and operates two lanes at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

“The opening of our hub office in Austin allows us to deepen our roots in this vibrant and leading technology community and to build our team to help us create the future,” said CLEAR President and co-founder Ken Cornick.

“With its innovative use of biometric technology, CLEAR is a natural fit in Austin’s tech-friendly environment,” added Charisse Bodisch, SVP, Economic Development, Greater Austin Chamber and Opportunity Austin.

CLEAR recently introduced biometric payments and ID checks for stadium concessions at Seattle Seahawks, Sounders FC and Mariners home games.
