CLEAR biometric tech deployed at Madison Square Garden for frictionless fan access

CLEAR announced today an official partnership with Madison Square Garden that will give fans an opportunity to use the CLEAR biometric identity membership platform to verify their identity for frictionless access into Rangers and Knicks games, as well as concerts and special events at the New York City arena. MSG is the 14th venue in the CLEAR network.

CLEAR members can accelerate their entry into the facility through a dedicated biometric security lane where, after the touch of a finger, they enter MSG for a physical screening. CLEAR representatives can assist non-members with a one-time enrollment process that combines a person’s identification and biometrics into a single CLEAR ID.

“Launching at MSG represents a major milestone for CLEAR,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker. “By adding The Garden to our growing New York City ecosystem, CLEAR members can now enjoy frictionless experiences at three iconic sports and entertainment venues and three key local-area airports with one biometric ID.”

In New York CLEAR members can use their biometrics for frictionless access at Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, JFK, LGA and HPN airports. The biometric identity platform is also available in more than 40 other airports and sports stadiums across the United States and in select cities, can also be used buy food and drinks and prove legal age for alcohol purchases.

In December CLEAR revealed it is providing biometric technology to car rental giant Hertz to speed up the car rental process for customers at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with deployments planned for 40 locations this year.

Earlier this year CLEAR announced a new round of financing from funds and accounts advised by global investment management firm T. Rowe Price Associates and Revolution Growth. This new investment will be used to accelerate the continued expansion of CLEAR’s platform and its airport and stadium network into new verticals.
