More orders of NEXT Biometrics fingerprint tech for Aadhaar-based applications

NEXT Biometrics announced today it has received further orders for its STQC and UIDAI certified fingerprint technology in India. The sensors are sold through its distribution partner AqTronics Technologies and will be used in Aadhaar-based applications.

“We are very pleased about the new orders and the growing presence we are gaining in the market,” said Ritu Favre, CEO of NEXT Biometrics. “AqTronics is a strong partner for us in India and we look forward to further growing our business relationship with this experienced and renowned team.”

“Application developers and system integrators opt for NEXT`s sensor technology because of its reliable performance and seamless integration,” added Harinath Gupta, Director Sales of AqTronics. “Working with a proven supplier like NEXT is a key asset for us.”

This announcement follows last week’s news that MobiOcean also selected NEXT’s certified fingerprint technology for use in its Aadhaar authentication and payments mobile platform.

NEXT Biometrics began expanding its operations in India last August to support the company’s increased activity in the country. NEXT’s team in India is led by Crossmatch, Safran Morpho and Gemalto veteran Ameya Bhagwat, and also includes Sanjith Sundaram, who spent five years with the Unique Identification Authority of India.
