GEMADEC implements Daon technology for Morrocco pension app with facial biometrics

The Moroccan Interprofessional Pension Fund (CIMR) is launching a mobile application for its beneficiaries with facial biometric technology provided by GEMADEC and Daon.

GEMADEC implemented a life certificate digitalization solution for the CIMR DIALCOM app, according to the announcement. Th implementation enables beneficiaries to self-enroll, as well as authorize pension payments with the app, using Daon’s IdentityX Platform to capture a biometric passport and a dynamic selfie which is compared with the passport ID photo after the user completes the liveness challenges.

The mobile application is part of CIMR’s digitalization policy, and could eventually enable biometrically secured applications for financial services.

Hong Kong’s Dah Sing Bank recently extended its IdentityX-powered biometric application, and Daon announced FIDO2 certification for server or Android client-side authentication earlier this year.

Daon formed a partnership with GEMADEC in 2018 to bring IdentityX to the North African and Francophone African markets.
