Innovatrics holds position on NIST Facial Recognition Vendor Test leaderboard
Innovatrics has remained on the leaderboard position in the latest NIST Facial Recognition Vendor Test 1:1 results with a 9th overall rank in accuracy, the company announced.
Innovatrics is currently ranked number 9 in the NIST FRVT 1:1 results out of 115 international algorithm providers, with results between 10th and 12th in the six visa, mugshot, and wild categories. The company was also recently found to have one of the fastest algorithms in FRVT 1:N identification testing, out of over 200 applicants.
The multimodal biometrics technology company participated in tests against the visa, mugshot and wild datasets, but not the child exploitation dataset. The first two covered document verification, border control, and constrained environments, while the third was related to identification using cameras and less constrained environments. For the first two categories, all tasks are performed by Innovatrics’ ABIS and digital onboarding platform, while the third is carried out by SmartFace, their plug and play facial recognition solution.
In a 1:1 scenario, Innovatrics’ facial recognition algorithm delivers more accurate face alignment in wild data cases due to its face template extraction and neural network architecture, according to the announcement. It can analyze various scenarios and accurately detect wide angles of rolled faces. An industry standard, the NIST FRVT 1:1 result validates the company’s solutions in the market.
“This recognition, which puts Innovatrics ahead of every major ABIS provider and established facial recognition providers, is of great importance as it highlights the great value proposition of our products to system integrators and policymakers,” said Matus Kapusta, Delivery & Solutions Director at Innovatrics. “As face recognition is increasingly being implemented in stand-alone security applications or existing biometric identity solutions, our R & D team has risen above and beyond the challenge of developing the most reliable and accurate face recognition algorithm that meets and exceeds the ever-changing needs of the market.”
In April, Innovatrics briefly topped the “Wild” category of NIST’s Ongoing Facial Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) 1:1.
