Syntizen, Tech5 set up biometric face liveness detection for transport department in India

Syntizen, Tech5 set up biometric face liveness detection for transport department in India

Syntizen will roll out in partnership with Tech5 a biometric face liveness detection solution for the Telangana Transport Department in India to prevent facial recognition spoofing, reports Ciol.

Under the partnership, individuals will be able to access department services on their smartphones through an app, and will no longer have to be physically present in an RTA office, explains Vamsi Kotte, CEO and Co-Founder Syntizen Technologies.

Syntizen develops other digital identification solutions including ABAS (Aadhaar-based Attendance System), edo Suite (Aadhaar masking solution), and Aadhaar Core Engine (for KYC, authentication, and subsidy management).

The company has active partnerships with Muthoot Fincorp, Motilal Oswal, and the Government of Telangana, and won the tender for the Friendly Electronic Services in Transport Department (FEST) project following an evaluation by Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS).

Tech5 has been developing biometric solutions for more than 15 years, with previous partnerships including the UN, World Bank and other governments. Its work has been globally acknowledged by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), US Department of Commerce for Face Authentication.

In October, Tech5 partnered with Pepper & Ink Technologies released a facial recognition offline mobile application for instant identity verification using biometric and secure QR code technology.

“After our immensely successful journey with Aadhaar-enabled software solutions, we feel proud to introduce our fresh business offering, Facial Authentication and Liveness detection,” said Siddharth Kukatlapalli, CBO and Co-Founder, Syntizen Technologies. “It will pave the way not just for us, but our entire nation to penetrate into the international waters of the digital identity market. We may be known for our Aadhaar solutions until now, but with this, we have successfully diversified our product line and entered the broader digital identity market.”

“We congratulate Syntizen on this important win that further establishes the company as a key player in the digital identification space,” said Machiel van der Harst, CEO and Co-Founder, Tech5. “We recognized Syntizen early on as an innovation-driven provider of authentication services and the ideal partner for Tech5, combining our top-tier Biometrics and Liveness Detection technologies with solid operational capabilities and services offerings to key customers in India.”

In September, Syntizen received funding from Mastercard and ACPL to strengthen its Aadhaar-based product offering and expand aggressively in India and internationally.
