Idemia and IN Groupe executives to lead Secure Identity Alliance Board

The Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) has elected Philippe Barreau and Didier Trutt as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board respectively to lead the trusted identity advocacy program, the advisory body announced.

Philippe Barreau is Group Executive Vice President at Idemia and Didier Trutt is Chairman and CEO of IN Groupe. Barreau will be taking the place of Frederic Trojani, who brought great contribution in membership expansion, in developing industry-working groups and launched the Open Standards Identity APIs (OSIA) initiative.

The new team led by Barreau will focus their efforts on further developing OSIA as an open international standard and will expand the alliance’s activities in a number of areas, including the security of identity documents, digital identity and issuance programs, the use of identity credentials in physical and digital environments and at borders, and the role trusted digital identity could play in development and social, financial and civic inclusion.

“The Secure Identity Alliance has a critical role to play in the identity market to enhance and drive dialogue between the stakeholders. Together with the newly elected executive team, we are determined to address technical and operational challenges governments face in this digital age,” said Barreau in a prepared statement.

“We all work for one aim: to support the delivery of a legal identity for all and the development of inclusive digital identity services necessary for sustainable, worldwide economic growth and prosperity. I look forward to engaging with stakeholders and driving the alliance forward for the mutual benefit of providers, government partners and their citizens,” he added.
