Entrust Datacard releases new passwordless SSO and digital identity proofing offerings

Entrust Datacard releases new passwordless SSO and digital identity proofing offerings

Entrust Datacard has released two high-assurance features for its unified authentication management platform: Passwordless Single Sign On (SSO) Authentication to optimize workforce security and productivity by removing passwords, and Identity Proofing with fully digital identity verification for accelerated customer acquisition and onboarding, the company announced.

Entrust Datacard’s Passwordless SSO Authentication solution lets employees use their smartphones as biometrics-protected virtual smart cards to log in to workstations and applications for a frictionless authentication experience. By removing password reliance, the solution reduces the risk of user credential theft and of data compromise.

Passwordless Single Sign On Authentication reduces registration and login friction and increases work productivity and security across cloud-based and on-premises without having to upgrade hardware or operating systems.

Banks, hospitals, government entities and others can roll out Entrust Datacard’s Identity Proofing solution to deliver a seamless onboarding experience both inside and outside physical locations. A smartphone of a kiosk can collect customer images and scan government IDs for AI-based biometric authentication and verification.

This solution reduces the number of abandoned account applications, decreases onboarding time to minutes and can cut down onboarding costs, the company claims.

It supports compliance with regional regulations, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) in the United States, and PSD2 in Europe.

“Digital transformation is driving the demand for authentication that is both incredibly easy and highly secure – features once thought incompatible,” said James LaPalme, VP and GM of Authentication at Entrust Datacard. “By delivering passwordless SSO authentication, enterprises can eliminate passwords and transform the employee experience, while increasing privacy and data security. Similarly, our Identity Proofing solution creates a truly digital customer onboarding experience, streamlining and automating what has until now been a costly, manual and less-secure process behind the scenes.”

Entrust Datacard Passwordless SSO Authentication and Identity Proofing solutions will be presented at RSA Conference from February 24-28 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
