Milestone adds Innovatrics SmartFace facial recognition to video management software

VMS provider, Milestone, has integrated SmartFace biometric facial recognition system from Innovatrics with its XProtect video management software to analyze multiple, simultaneous real-time video streams, improve functionality, tool performance and support compatibility standards, the company announced.

SmartFace leverages Innovatrics’ facial biometric technology and know-how to equip XProtect with video features that increase opportunities for video management technology. The solution can be embedded via REST API and ZeroMQ notifications, it can process complex facial recognition processes such as facial detection thresholds, template extraction, matching, tracking and age and gender detection.

The solution will help developers spend less time on understanding facial biometrics, so they can direct their efforts toward front-end implementation, according to the announcement. SmartFace can be implemented in various applications that require facial recognition and biometrics technology.

Innovatrics’ SmartFace facial recognition is already available on Milestone Marketplace and can be rolled out by system integrators and partners looking for video management systems.

In January 2020, Adastra partnered with Innovatrics to integrate its AI-based digital onboarding toolkit to introduce biometric measurements and security.
