FacePhi further expands in Latin America with new biometrics customer Interbank Peru
FacePhi is reinforcing its presence in Peru by entering a second biometric partnership, this time with Interbank through technology partner Ti-Gestión, the company announced.
Interbank will roll out Selphi, FacePhi’s biometric facial recognition for mobile and web banking and SelphID digital onboarding to boost access security for bank accounts and optimize user experience. The technology is available for Android and iOS deployment. Founded in 1897, the bank serves over two million clients.
Selphi’s biometric facial recognition authentication includes a passive liveness test and identity verification confirmed compliant to the ISO/IEC 30107 standard for Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) in testing by iBeta Quality Assurance.
With SelphID digital onboarding, users can sign up for an account without having to be physically present in the facility. The user has to register a photo of both sides of the identity document and a selfie, which is matched to the photo in the ID for identity authentication. The technology has so far been accessed over six million times.
FacePhi’s technology has been deployed in several other Latin American countries, including Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico.
According to company CEO Javier Mira, the Latin American market is “essential for our consolidation and growth in the short and medium term.” The partnership with Interbank represents “a commercial action that expands our client portfolio, made up of more than 50 entities around the world, but which also allows us to reinforce our implementation in the area of Latin America.”
