FacePhi announces new LatAm biometrics customer Naranja X

FacePhi announces new LatAm biometrics customer Naranja X

FacePhi is expanding its reach in Argentina with a new biometric recognition partnership signed with Naranja X, a fintech subsidiary of financial group Grupo Galicia, to implement SelphID for digital onboarding, the company announced.

Not only is FacePhi growing its customer base in fintech, but it is also focused on healthcare, already signing a contract with Nssmart to develop biometric facial recognition authentication kiosks for hospitals in South Korea.

Naranja X customers can use the application as a virtual wallet to send and receive money without a card. Payment or collection can be processed with a QR code. Customers can still use the Naranja card or a bank account to load money.

Founded in 2019, Narajna X develops an application to address customers’ needs through digital products and services. SelphID digital onboarding is installed on the mobile platform and is compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. To open new accounts, clients have to take a photo of the identity document and then a selfie for cross-matching to ensure identity verification.

FacePhi’s biometric facial recognition technology is currently available in over 25 countries.

“We continue to grow thanks to new agreements, such as the latter agreement with Naranja X, which strengthens our presence in the Latam market, one of our main expansion cornerstones of our business,” said Javier Mira, co-founder and CEO of FacePhi, in the announcement.

Last week, FacePhi released a periocular biometry-based algorithm to prevent impersonation.
