BIO-key signs up another college for secure remote authentication with PortalGuard IAM

BIO-key’s PortalGuard cloud identity and access management (IAM) solution has been selected by Chaffey College in Southern California to enhance online user experiences for its 29,000-plus students and faculty.

PortalGuard will provide secure, enterprise-grade online access to Chaffey College’s education portals and applications.

Numerous colleges have signed up for PortalGuard since the biometrics provider acquired it in the PistolStar deal earlier this year.

Chaffey previously had an AIM solution in place, but after two years of attempting to work around its limitations without improvement, reviewed options on the market and chose PortalGuard for its reliability, scalability and redundancy as an SaaS system.

“We are pleased to offer assistance to Chaffey College and provide them with a proven IAM solution,” states BIO-key – PortalGuard President Mark Cochran. “Our solution is designed to handle the peak loads that are presented at the beginning of the school year. There is no doubt that colleges need their technology to work reliably to maintain a constant connection with their students.   We are continuing to provide new innovations to our IAM platform to enhance both security and usability, and we are proud that over 120 institutions’ trust in our technology, and today, we are happy to add Chaffey College to our growing list of customers.”

BIO-key also recently signed up Boston-based Partners in Health (PIH) to PortalGuard’s IAM service for remote authentication.
