Telpo launches military-grade all-in-one tablet with face, fingerprint, iris and voice biometrics
Telpo has developed a new, rugged, all-in-one biometric tablet for mobile or fixed-position identification and authentication with face, fingerprint, iris or voice recognition.
The new S8 tablet serves a range of use cases, including citizen registration, voter verification, election, border control, ID document issuance, digital KYC, access control and time and attendance records.
The tablet integrates leading fingerprint sensors such as Integrated Biometrics’ Columbo or Sherlock, or Suprema’s BM-Slim 2 and 3, and supports biometric enrollment or matching.
The company says the Telpo S8 supports use with gloved and wet hands, is rated IP67 water and dustproof, and captures images in 400 nit sunlight. The tablet also features secure identity document reading, with contact and NFC ID card, digital passport and barcode scanning. The tablet runs Android 9.0 on an octa-core processor with an 8-inch 1280 by 800 touch screen and a 13 MP rear camera with dual flash support. It includes large data storage and battery capacity for over 12 hours of continuous use.
Various connectivity options are provided, as well as an SDK for custom applications.
Telpo describes the S8 as a “military-grade” tablet, with compliance to CE, FCC, RoHS and MIL-STD-810G standards.
Telpo also launched a facial recognition device with an ultra-thin form factor for deployment to commercial settings in August.
