Innovatrics has been revealed as a partner with Credence ID in the World Bank project for a biometrics-based solution to the challenges which Senegal faces within its current healthcare system.

The biometrics collaboration is intended to enable subjects to be enrolled, identified and verified, and administrators to securely map, analyze and manage devices from a web browser, using the World Bank-backed La Couverture Maladie Universelle (CMU) platform.

Both companies are working towards a vision of accuracy, reliability and trust which aspires to change the landscape of healthcare in Senegal. This will be implemented through easily operated devices for the meticulous tracking of a patient’s journey through each stage of the system, using Innovatrics’ algorithms within Credence ID devices.

It will reduce fraudulent activity by focusing on certifying patients’ identity through facial and fingerprint information. The solution also aims to make medical treatment financially attainable; the platform is able to take on beneficiaries and accept donations which cover many different medical programs.

Credence ID’s role in the project was announced last week.

“CredenceCONNECT 2.0 dramatically changes mobile ID device management deployed in the field, and we are pleased to be part of this platform as their preferred fingerprint algorithm of choice,” says Innovatrics Business Development Manager for North America, Nina Suchankova. “With the versatility of Credence ID’s mobile ID devices and the accuracy of Innovatrics algorithms, customers with the most challenging conditions can deploy face and fingerprint identification with ease.”

Innovatrics algorithms are highly regarded for their accuracy and reliability. The company works toward a human-centered approach, and earlier this year was involved in the biometric system design for Guinea’s 2020 voter registrations.

Biometric mobile app developed for public service access

Digital public services in Slovakia and other places are still inaccessible for many; a ‘chip equipped ID’ and necessary software has been the only method in a traditionally unreliable system, according to a separate announcement.

Innovatrics has addressed the demand for access to local government services by integrating its Digital Onboarding Toolkit into a mobile ID smartphone app to replace the use of the chip ID. To do so, the company has partnered with PosAm, a software solutions company.

Through the app, citizens can easily handle payments for services like waste collection, dog taxes, fishing permits. Identity verification is performed by scanning the ID card and taking a selfie to apply Innovatrics’ facial recognition and biometric liveness check.
