Trulioo names new CFO, buguroo appoints EMEA sales director

Trulioo has announced the appointment of Leigh Ramsden as its new Chief Financial Officer to lead all aspects of the company’s finances as its biometric identity verification business rapidly grows.

Ramsden replaces Anne Lawlor, who is retiring after more than eight years with Trulioo.

Trulioo President and CEO Steve Munford thanked Lawlor for her contributions, and she will continue to advise the company to ensure a smooth transition, according to the announcement.

Ramsden served as interim CFO and VP of Finance for Absolute Software, leading the development of a financial planning and analysis function and financial technology infrastructure for the company and participating in a successful $69 million public equity raise and cross-listing to the Nasdaq exchange. His responsibilities with Trulioo include accounting, financial reporting and analysis, financial operations, capital planning, tax, treasury and investor relations.

“Leigh’s expertise in building out financial technology infrastructure and optimizing financial performance will help guide us on a continual growth trajectory,” Munford states in the press release.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the company’s mission to accelerate financial inclusion through verifiable digital identities for the entire global population,” comments Ramsden. “I look forward to working with Steve and the leadership team to drive strategic growth initiatives, profitability, and enhanced value for Trulioo shareholders.”

Trulioo was recently declared among the 100 fastest-growing companies in Canada by a national publication.

Buguroo appoints EMEA sales director to solidify regional position

Richard da Silva has been named the new sales director for the EMEA region at buguroo, in which role he will focus on further entrenching the leadership position of the company’s behavioral biometrics in the regional cybersecurity market.

In 15 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity and fraud detection sales, da Silva has most recently led business development in the French-speaking financial sector for RSA Security, and previously served as head of EMEA Channels for the company’s Fraud and Risk Intelligence unit. This experience gives him insight into unique customer pain points and will allow him to support buguroo’s sales and strategy objectives for the region, according to the announcement.

“I am thrilled to be joining buguroo at such an exciting time, and to educate the market about the ways its technology solutions, backed by the most advanced behavioral and computer science, make not just banking but the world itself safer,” says da Silva.

“2020 has been a strong year for buguroo, despite the wide-spread economic uncertainty, which is evidenced by our ability to continue to attract and incorporate top talent,” says buguroo CEO Pablo de la Riva.

“Richard’s expertise and knowledge of the region makes him a natural fit for buguroo. His appointment will support our EMEA growth strategy as we double down on our commitment to French-speaking countries.”
