Pakistan announces biometric system for electoral process

Pakistan is moving closer to implementing biometrics in its electoral system.

Tariq Malik, Pakistan’s chairman of The National Database and Registration Authority, has claimed that the biometrics system recently developed will improve the electoral process by making it more transparent, as reported by the Pakistan Observer.

The NADRA’s state of the art biometrics system should reduce the incidence of errors and bring transparency in the electoral system.

No further information about exactly how this biometrics system works or will be implemented has been announced.

How important a role do you think biometrics should play in electoral processes?
