BIO-key International healthcare partners to present fingerprint authentication at HIMSS 2014

 

BIO-key International has announced that the company’s healthcare integration partners, including Allscripts, Caradigm, Epic, HealthCast Solutions and Key Source International will be presenting BIO-key’s fingerprint authentication solutions for EHR and patient identification at HIMSS 2014,set to take place February 23-27, 2014 at the Orlando Convention Center in Florida.

“Our products enhance productivity and efficiency. Leading hospitals utilize BIO-key to reduce the organizations’ reliance on passwords, meet compliance requirements for two-factor authentication and EPCS while generating more time to care for patients and enhancing the overall security of patient records,” Jay Meier, Vice President, Corporate Development at BIO-key said. “Organizations benefit from our unique ability to reduce the cost of hardware associated with existing authentication platforms and replace them with flexible, scalable and interoperable software. Interoperability protects the investment and prepares the hospital’s IT department for the future of biometric authentication on mobile devices.”

According to the company, HealthCast Solutions will be demonstrating two-factor fingerprint authentication and EPCS. A representative from Rady’s Children’s Hospital will be discussing the hospital’s intial impression of HealthCast Solutions Single Sign-On and BIO-key’s fingerprint authentication.

In addition, says BIO-key, on the 26th, at the Allscripts booth between 9:30 and 1 p.m., the company will be giving live demonstrations and sample enrollments into Allscripts TouchWorks, Sunrise Clinical Manager and Professional EHR.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, BIO-key recently added three new directors to its board, and appointed DePasquale to a joint Chairman-and-CEO position.
