Next Biometrics announced it has been expanded its organization with the hiring of top level talent from industry leading companies in recent weeks.

In total, Next Biometrics has appointed 10 new engineers to its existing teams in Seattle, Prague and Taipei.

The company did not disclose the names of any of the newly-appointed engineers.

“We have experienced a massive growth in customer projects and need to grow our organization to serve these,” said Next Biometrics CEO Tore Etholm-Idsøe. “Over the last months hw/fw/sw engineers from Microsoft, ASIC designers from Cypress and FAE’s from ST Micro and Qualcomm have joined Next. We are of course very pleased to see that Next is perceived as an attractive employer by top class technologists”.

Next provides area fingerprint sensors for a range of different applications, including smartphones, tablets, PC’s, doors, time registration systems, payment terminals, flashdrives, USB-tokens, and key fobs.

The new engineers will help support the company’s surge in production due to a high demand of orders in recent months.

Previously reported, Next Biometrics Group ASA announced that following three months of integration work and preparation, its first Tier 1 design-win client has decided to integrate Next fingerprint sensors into two more of its products.
