OnePlus 2 smartphone to feature fingerprint sensor

Android smartphone manufacturer OnePlus’s new smartphone, OnePlus 2, will feature a Nexus-style fingerprint sensor, according to a report by PC World.

Based on alleged leaked photos of OnePlus, the smartphone’s design appears to be a combination of the OnePlus One and Nexus 6 smartphones.

The back of the phone features a wood panel that contains a fingerprint sensor on a vertical bar, under the camera and flash.

The leaked photos come a few months after rumors began to surface that OnePlus 2 would feature “laser focus fingerprint identification embedded in the home button”,

Meanwhile, the smartphone’s interface resembles stock Android, which is consistent with the underlying aesthetic behind OnePlus’ Oxygen OS.

OnePlus said that its fingerprint sensor will unlock the phone as well as perform other tasks faster than the iPhone’s Touch ID.

The company plans to unveil one feature at a time leading up to its July 27th launch.
