ZTE releases new smartphone model with FPC fingerprint sensor

Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE has released in China a new version of the ZTE Axon Pro with an FPC fingerprint sensor, according to a report by GSMArena.

ZTE Axon A2015 features the FPC1025 fingerprint sensor, which is able to undergo a 360 degree finger rotation reading, as well as generate 3D image quality.

Priced at $449.98 (without tax), ZTE Axon A2015 features the same aesthetic design as the version that debuted in New York City last week – the only difference being that it features a fingerprint sensor on the back..

The fingerprint sensor is particularly good news for those consumers awaiting the device’s compatibility with mobile payment platforms since they largely rely on biometric authentication to secure user transactions.

ZTE has not specified when – if at all — it will release the ZTE Axon Pro with fingerprint sensor in the United States.

In addition to the new smartphone, ZTE also announced Apple Watch rival ZTE Axon Watch, which features voice and gesture control, health and fitness tracking features, and calling and texting capabilities.

Previously reported, ZTE unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona its latest ZTE Grand S3 flagship smartphone with Eyeverify technology.
