Two new additions to the Morpho line of biometric access control and time solutions

Morpho (Safran) has introduced two new products to its MorphoAccess (MA) SIGMA family of biometric access control and time solutions, called the MorphoAccess SIGMA Lite series.

The company will exhibit the new devices at the upcoming ASIS International 61st Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2015) conference in Anaheim, from September 28 to October 1.

The MA SIGMA Lite fingerprint readers are engineered with the same attention to detail and performance as the MA SIGMA biometric access terminal, and are specifically designed to equip narrow mounting surfaces on glass/aluminum door mullions, turnstiles, or server rack doors.

The terminals are available in two designs and multiple card reader options, offering a range of models to meet a wide range of deployment requirements for both indoor and outdoor use.

The first design features an LED indicator to aid users in the access control process, while the second model provides improved interactivity with a color touchscreen.

Built using Morpho’s fingerprint technology, the fingerprint readers are able to handle a high capacity workload. They are able to accommodate up to 250,000 users for one-to-one verification and up to 10,000 users for one-to-many identification.

The fingerprint readers embed a web server that enables laptop, tablet or smartphone users to connect, and then initiate on-device enrollment, configure terminals or retrieve transaction logs.

The devices provide a seamless mounting system and high configurability, enabling them to be easily integrated into legacy Bioscrypt and Morpho installations as well as new implementations.

“With these new devices, the right combination of design, robustness and performance is now available in a compact package,” said Samuel Fringant, executive vice president of Morpho’s security division. “By delivering readers suitable for renewing legacy installations, complementing deployments of MA SIGMA stations or securing brand new facilities, Morpho reaffirms its commitment to give its customers access to the latest refinements of its technology, whatever the situation.”

Previously reported, MorphoTrust USA (Safran) introduced the Identix Trusted Identity-as-a-Service (TIaaS) platform, a set of multimodal biometric identification (fingerprint, face, iris and palm), document authentication, and data verification services that help customers verify their identity.
