FocalTech licenses Precise Biometrics’ mobile fingerprint recognition solution

 

Precise Biometrics has entered an agreement with FocalTech Systems Co Ltd for licensing of Precise Biometrics’ product for fingerprint recognition, Precise BioMatch Mobile.

Precise BioMatch Mobile can seamlessly integrate fingerprint matching functionality in smartphones and tablets, while being optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through the company’s patented hybrid algorithm.

The software quickly, accurately, and securely verifies the user’s identity, ensuring a seamless user experience for consumers when unlocking their mobile device or authenticating to services, as well as delivering a high level of security.

Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics commented on the deal. “FocalTech is one of the leaders in multi-touch technology and touch panel controllers. The agreement with FocalTech strengthens our position as the leading independent supplier of fingerprint software for mobile devices”.

The license agreement will generate royalty revenue based on sales of fingerprint sensors from FocalTech that includes Precise BioMatch Mobile and cannot be forecasted at this point.

“The agreement with Precise Biometrics enables us to target the fast growing market for fingerprint technology in mobile devices in China” said MC Liao, President of FocalTech. “FocalTech’s touch controller shipments have exceeded 300 million and we have become the number one supplier globally in 2015. Based on FocalTech’s experience in supply chain, we will accelerate the sales of our fingerprint sensors to the mobile device market”.

Precise Biometrics recently announced a licensing agreement with Shanghai OXi Technology Ltd for its Precise BioMatch Mobile software.
