Visa to demo biometric payment authentication prototypes at Mobile World Congress 2016

 

Visa will be demonstrating some innovative new payment technology later this month in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2016.

According to the company, Visa will showcase what it calls ‘the future of payments’, including; new ways to pay with mobile devices using mVisa and Visa Checkout, a number of wearable contactless payment devices, such as wristbands, keychains and stickers; the latest fuel and parking proof-of-concept apps in a connected car, and; payment authentication prototypes using biometrics such as the wave of a hand, or through facial recognition and fingerprint capabilities on mobile devices.

The payment company will also be holding technology tutorials at the Visa booth and hosting two half-day invitation-only client and partner events. A full schedule is available on the company’s website.

Previously reported, Visa recently introduced the Visa Developer platform, giving developers access to hundreds of Visa APIs and SDKs for some of Visa’s payment technologies and services including account holder identification, person-to-person payment capabilities, secure in-store and online payment services such as Visa Checkout, currency conversion and consumer transaction alerts.
