Biometrics firm Crossmatch celebrates 20 years in identity management and authentication

Categories Biometrics News  |  Trade Notes

This month Crossmatch is celebrating 20 years as an innovator in high-security identity and authentication technologies.

In a statement, the company says its roots, Cross Match Technologies and DigitalPersona, Inc., stretch back to 1996, when both companies established themselves as pioneers in biometric livescan enrollment and high-security identity provisioning and authentication.

The 2014 creation of Crossmatch combined the companies’ hardware and software technologies and brought the market a complete solution for the enrollment, authentication and management of high-assurance identities.

“We are proud of our 20-year legacy of leadership and innovation in the industry,” said Richard Agostinelli, Crossmatch CEO. “We are excited to honor this heritage with our next-generation DigitalPersona Altus multi-factor authentication solution. Altus provides an agile framework that will enable organizations to quickly adapt to solve their identity management challenges — today and for the next 20 years.”

In March, Crossmatch announced that it had added smart features to its DigitalPersona Altus multi-factor authentication platform including new contextual and application-specific authentication capabilities that lets IT and InfoSec managers step-up security when needed and minimize end-user friction.
