A report in Android Authority shows screenshots from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7‘s Grace UX interface relating to setting up the mobile device’s iris scanner.
The long disclaimer details why the device might not recognize a user’s irises including: when you are wearing glasses or certain types of contact lenses; when parts of your iris is hiding by puffy or narrowed eyes; when the device is tilted too much or lower than your face; after certian types of eye surgery; in low light or strong sunlight conditions.
But, as demonstrated in a leaked video, in the right conditions the Note 7 iris scanner is very fast and to set it up, all you need to do is position the phone 25-30 cms from your face with your eyes in the on-screen circles and let the front-facing iris scanner register your iris.
