Technological innovations to drive fingerprint sensor demand

TMR Research has published a new research report that addresses the significant rise of the global market for fingerprint sensors and forecasts that it will continue to sustain such growth over the forthcoming years.

The research report, “Fingerprint Sensors Market – Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Trends, Analysis, Growth, and Forecast 2017–2025,” offers a comprehensive evaluation of the market on the basis of its historical and present performance.

The report’s authors explain that the increasing need for secured and effortless access to consumer electronics is the main driving growth factor of the global fingerprint sensors market.

In addition, the significant advancements in fingerprint sensing technology is also driving the market.

The report segments the market into various technologies including light transmission, reflection with sweep, optical sensors use reflection technology, and thin-film transistor (TFT) displays to scan or read a fingerprint.

Electro-optical sensor is a variation of TFT devices, in which capacitance is used to collect data instead of reflected light.

Due to the usage of the same technology in sensing the capacitance connection of the signal, RF field-AC capacitance is often mistaken for capacitance sensors, according to the report.

The report broadly assesses the worldwide fingerprint sensors market on the basis of its reach across the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, and Latin America. At the forefront of the global market is North America and Europe.

With extensive advancements in technology and innovative technological infrastructure, TMR Research analysts project these regional markets to retain their positions over the forecast period.

The research report highlights some of the key players in the fingerprint market, including Fujitsu Ltd., Adhesive Material Group, Synaptics Inc., Apple Inc., RCG Holdings Ltd., Thales Group, Fingerprint Cards AB, Bio-Key International, Fulcrum Biometrics LLC., Idex ASA, Next Biometrics Group ASA, Sony Corp., and Crossmatch Technologies Inc.

Earlier this year, TMR published a report titled “Facial Recognition Market – Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Trends, Analysis, Growth, and Forecast 2017–2025,” which detailed the growing number of applications of facial recognition technology in visual surveillance systems and to corroborate other biometric systems in meeting a range of security needs.
