Fingerprint Cards to discuss smartcards, IoT and iris in ‘Technology Update’

 

Fingerprint Cards will be conducting a ‘Technology Update’ webcast on November 1, 2017.

The webcast will cover the Swedish biometrics company’s core business capacitive sensors in smartphones, as well as provide up-to-date information on new segments and technologies including smartcards, IoT and iris recognition. FPC will also give an update on our view regarding In-Display and other new applications and technologies.

The presentation will be webcast live at 14:00 CET and an on-demand version will be available after.

Female Engineer Network

Fingerprint Cards reports that it was well represented and recieved at last week’s Female Engineer Network (FEN). The team got a lot of attention demonstrating devices with its fingerprints sensors.

FEN was created and operated to inspire and motivate female engineers around the country. FEN creates a natural arena for female engineers around the country to network and exchange experiences.

New deployments

This week Fingerprint Cards announced new deployments of its fingerprint sensors in an number of Huawei smartphones. The companies have been working tightly together for more than three years.

Huawei’s Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design are shipping with FPC1075, and the company expects to start high volume shipments for Mate 10 very soon.

FPC1267 is a new fingerprint solution developed with super-thin packaging technology enabling smartphone manufactures to integrate the fingerprint sensor seamlessly with aesthetic design.

Additionally, Huawei’s Nova 2i and Honor 9i launched with the new FPC1028 sensor. The FPC1028 has an ultra-low power consumption and a small footprint resulting in a very compact and affordable sensor. These two mid-tier smartphones are targeted for Malaysia and India.

Huawei also launched Honor WaterPlay featuring the FPC1145 sensor.

Previously reported, Fingerprint Cards will be conducting a telephone conference and webcasted presentation of its interim report for the third quarter of 2017 on October 26, 2017 at 15:00 CEST. The report will be published at 07:00 CEST the same day.
