Signicat to offer Verisec’s Freja eID for customer on-boarding and engagement

Signicat has announced it will now offer Freja electronic ID to enable retail, financial, and other organizations to use it for customer on-boarding and engagement, through a new partnership with IT security company Verisec, the developer of Freja eID.

Freja eID is a digital signing and authentication method with two levels. The basic version can be used for eIDAS-compliant cross-border document signing, while Freja eID+, which requires additional identity vetting, can be used for secure public and private sector transactions. It is the first Swedish mobile eID approved by the Swedish E-identification Board, according to the announcement.

“Signicat, as an established digital identity service provider (DISP) in Europe, represents a new and important partnership for Freja eID, supporting its use across the region,” says Verisec CEO Johan Henrikson. “For many major players in the banking, finance, insurance and eCommerce, Signicat is the preferred provider of electronic identity and signature solutions.”

Freja eID is available on the Signicat Digital Identity Platform, and Signicat will resell the credential under the commercial arrangement.

Signicat also recently partnered with Mitek to offer its on-boarding capabilities on the company’s Digital Identity Platform.
