CLEAR, Major League Baseball and Tickets.com are partnering to introduce biometric ticketing technology at participating MLB ballparks next year. The partnership leverages the Tickets.com’s API and allows CLEAR members who link their CLEAR profile with their MLB.com account to gain entry to ballparks using fingerprint or, in the near future, facial recognition technology.

This new biometric ticketing technology will be piloted at select MLB ballparks later this season, with broader roll-out to CLEAR and Tickets.com-enabled ballparks beginning in 2019. Tickets.com, an MLB-owned ticketing technology company, is the primary ticketing partner for 23 MLB Clubs. With this partnership, CLEAR becomes the Official Biometric Identity and Ticketing Partner of Major League Baseball.

“We are thrilled to partner with MLB to make game days more enjoyable and secure for fans with biometric ticketing,” said Caryn Seidman-Becker, CEO & Co-Founder of CLEAR. “We look forward to continuing to innovate alongside the League and the sports community to transform the fan experience from ticketing to concessions and more.”

Now available at Phoenix Sky Harbor international airport

CLEAR has added Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to its growing nationwide network. CLEAR members move through a dedicated lane at airport security verifying their identity with just the tap of a finger or blink of the eye before moving on to bag checks and metal detectors.

“It’s an honor to partner with Phoenix Sky Harbor as the city’s leadership clearly understands the value of improving the airport experience for their flyers,” said Seidman Becker. “We are thrilled to be able to help travelers get to where they need to be in a more consistent, fast and frictionless way.”

The company’s patented biometric-boarding pass technology will soon allow passengers to go from curb to gate with just the tap of a finger. Delta Air Lines recently rolled out CLEAR for biometric lounge access in all 50 Delta Sky Clubs across the U.S.

With the launch at PHX, CLEAR is now available at 25 major airports and 13 professional sports teams stadiums.
