JINCO continues to extend its position as a world leader in powered smart card technology. The Taiwan-based company has successfully integrated IDEX fingerprint sensors into its dual-interface biometrics cards for multiple applications, including payments and identification.

IDEX first launched its sensor for dual interface biometric cards in June 2017. The sensor is made of polymer and has a power management system supporting biometric card operation without a battery and with standard NFC terminals.

“JINCO selected IDEX for its high performance, reference design and superior support which ensured that the development of our cards, with and without batteries, was achieved in record time” says Ted Lin, Chairman at JINCO Universal.

2017 was a breakthrough year for Jinco, with steadily increasing recognition as a biometric smart card market leader culminating in orders for millions of units under three major deals.

IDEX is working with several other major card vendors who are currently integrating IDEX’s sensor into their biometric cards.

IDEX recently signed on as a member of the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA) reinforcing the company’s commitment to the Asia Pacific market. At its AGM in May, the fingerprint identification and authentication solutions provider noted that securing its leadership position in the market for biometric cards is the company’s top priority.
