Mastek wins UK Home Office Biometrics Programme contract

Mastek has been awarded a contract to provide strategic application development and support capability for the UK Home Office Biometrics (HOB) Programme.

According to the announcement, this contract will see Mastek develop “solutions to help rationalize existing biometric services and maximize the potential of technology in delivering law enforcement and immigration user requirements”.

Service users may include law enforcement, immigration, border force and passport office staff who need to use biometrics in a variety of situations and locations including custody suites, mobile locations, borders, passport offices and visa application centers.

“Transforming services through technology and improving the user journey is at the core of what we do,” said Prahlad Koti, managing director of Mastek UK. “We are committed to using our expertise to help the Home Office ensure national security and citizen safety.”

This contract follows the DevOps contract awarded earlier this year to Mastek for delivering platform and support services to the Biometrics Programme.

Last week WorldReach signed a multi million-pound contract with the Home Office for biometric digital onboarding.
