Suprema fingerprint sensors featured in new line of mobile biometric devices from TazTag

Biometric hardware maker TazTag is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by launching a new line of rugged mobile biometric products featuring high-end fingerprint sensors from Suprema, according to an announcement.

The three new TazTag products each include Suprema’s FAP20 BioMini Slim 2 (BM-Slim2) fingerprint authentication scanner module, along with a range of features and options.

The TazPad LTR is a durable yet thin and light biometric tablet with IP64 protection from dust and water, the company says, while the TazPad eXS is a shock and dust-proof Android device with an ultra-slim handheld design, a 4000mAh battery and a 5-inch display, and the TazPoS has been enhanced with fingerprint biometrics to go with its EMV and PCI certified payment capabilities, thermal printer, and smartcard and magnetic strip reader.

“Likewise in other smart devices, fingerprint became an essential authentication method in today’s professional markets,” says Suprema ID CEO Bogun Park. “We take great pride in offering BM-Slim 2, the world’s slimmest fingerprint sensor of its kind, to TazTag’s new mobile devices that have ben widely used in many vertical markets including telco, banking and law enforcement applications. We will keep our strong commitment to TazTag with the most advanced and affordable biometric solutions to provide competitive advantage over competitors.”

The BM-Slim2 continues to provide robust security due to the Live Fingerprint Detection (LFD) technology Suprema hails as the industry’s most advanced, and its very low power consumption supports the enhanced mobile autonomy of TazTag’s new devices, while still providing a large sensor scanning area and meeting the FAP20 standard to deliver higher quality fingerprint images.

The new TazTag devices will be introduced at Suprema’s booth at Trustech 2018 in Cannes, November 27 to 29.

Suprema demonstrated its BioMini series of fingerprint sensors, including the new BioMini Slim 2S, at SDW 2018 this summer.
