Tapplock unveils new biometric padlock, enterprise platform

IoT technology company Tapplock released the latest version of its biometric padlock as well as a new enterprise platform at ISC East 2018.

According to the announcement, the Tapplock one+ biometric padlock opens in 0.8 seconds with a fingerprint and an adaptive algorithm enables the lock to become faster and more accurate with each use. The smart padlock can be unlocked with a fingerprint, Bluetooth via the Tapplock App, and Morse code by pressing long / short combinations on the power button. It features 128-bit AES encryption on top of a custom 128-bit encryption, a 7mm reinforced stainless-steel shackle and has an IP67 waterproof rating.

The Tapplock enterprise management platform works with the Tapplock one+ and allows businesses to set custom permissions for each user. Using the platform, employers can view all of their locks on a map as well as deploy and revoke fingerprint access remotely and manage access privileges such as times of day individuals can access a lock. Audit reports allow businesses to track every account activity and view timestamps for when a lock was unlocked and locked. The platform sends mobile notifications for account-related events and exports audit reports.

BIO-key recently announced it will debut its fingerprint-based biometric and Bluetooth-enabled bicycle lock, TouchLock Bike, in the United States through Amazon.com before making it available through broader retail distribution.
