DERMALOG and IDnow collaborating on mobile digital identity solution

DERMALOG, Germany’s largest biometrics company, announced it is working with IDnow to expand internationally into the growing market for digital identity solutions and is supporting IDnow in product development and distribution of AutoIdent.

AutoIdent provides quick and fully automated identification on mobile devices and DERMALOG’s advanced face recognition is an integral part of the solution. Users take a selfie with their smartphone to compare it to their ID document for identity verification. The system’s 3D face recognition protects against fraud attempts, such as presentation attacks. With integrated liveness detection, AutoIdent ensures an high level of security that is highly convenient because it does not require additional data verification.

“Biometric identification methods that are already established in the public sector can also be of interest to private companies,” explains Frank Kretschmer, responsible for business development at DERMALOG. “With AutoIdent, we are offering our national and international customers a turnkey solution that meets the current economic challenges.”

“To be sustainable, digital identification processes require technologies including the highest security standards,” added Mario Böhm, Manager Channel Sales at IDnow. “We very much appreciate having a partnership with DERMALOG. We look forward to growing together in the future and further developing our pioneering technologies.”

McKinsey recently analyzed the digital identity market and estimates the market will grow between 9 and 15 percent a year to reach between $16 and $20 billion in 2022.
