BioSec solution to alleviate data storage security concerns

BioSec Group announced today the development of “template on phone” solution that will store users’ biometric palm vein template on their phone instead of in databases, helping to overcome data storage related security fears.

The Hungarian security company notes that it can be also used in environments without network or server infrastructure, providing an ideal solution for local authentication in a wide range of markets such as cashless payment to hotels and visitor management.

“With data breaches on the headlines in every second week, users are more afraid of providing personal information, such as their biometric template,” explains BioSec Group CEO, Péter Györgydeák. “By bringing mobile devices into the picture, we can send the biometric templates via NFC to our system, so there is no need to build a database. With this development, we can keep the users’ biometric template in their pockets, while also reducing data storage related security risks.”

BioSec is also developing a biometric fast lane solution for events that can be deployed as a fixed solution or as a mobile wireless system in indoor and outdoor environments. It is expected to launch in Q2 2019.
