Signicat enters German digital onboarding and ID verification market with Verimi partnership

Signicat will integrate the identity platform from German ID provider Verimi into its Digital Identity Hub as part of a strategic agreement between the companies to deliver multi-factor identification and authentication across Europe.

Verimi is a leader in the German ID market, providing a strategic advantage for Signicat’s entry into the market, and enabling Signicat customers to digitally onboard customers in Germany. In addition to providing Signicat services in Germany, Verimi will be able to attract more international partners through the agreement. Verimi’s technology enables end-users to secure all accounts with a universal username and password, along with a second factor, such smartphone-based biometrics, for additional security. It also provides ID document storage and digital signing capabilities.

“Germany is rapidly becoming a digital-first nation and our partnership with Verimi means we can offer our international clients an excellent identity verification and authentication method to attract and retain new customers,” comments Signicat CEO Gunnar Nordseth. “Verimi’s exciting offering is opening new doors for us in Germany and we look forward to working together with them.”

The companies say the partnership ensures that secure digital onboarding, identity verification services, and regulatory compliance offerings can be provided across Europe in an interoperable way.

Signicat was chosen by Nordic financial institution Resurs Bank to provide digital signing technology late last year.
