Fingerprint Cards partners with FutureCard on biometric cards for Middle East banks

 

Fingerprint Cards and FutureCard Industries have partnered to bring contactless biometric payment cards to bank customers in the Middle East region.

According to the announcement, the card will feature Fingerprint Cards’ FPC-BEP software platform for payments and the T-Shape module which is part of FPC’s 1300 series.

“FutureCard is a uniquely positioned card supplier in the vibrant EMEA region,” explains Thomas Rex, SVP Business Line Smartcards at Fingerprint Cards. “We are pleased that FutureCard has selected our biometric technology, and to see our outstanding T-Shape and software platform in the hands of more and more customers around the world.”

“We chose biometric hardware and software from Fingerprint Cards since they do have the leading technology on the market when it comes to biometric cards,” added Hassan Mokdad, CEO at FutureCard. “Fingerprint Cards biometric technology fits well with FutureCard’s business approach which is to satisfy our precious customers by offering them the best card solutions available on the market.”

With interest growing in fingerprint-based biometric payment cards, the Secure Technology Alliance has published an introductory resource for card issuers, issuer processors, payment networks and merchants to explain the business case, impact, and considerations for deploying the technology.
