Regula updates its Document Reader SDK for mobile platforms

 

Regula has released an updated version of its Document Reader SDK for mobile iOS and Android platforms.

According to the announcement, version 2.2 brings significant improvements to the speed and accuracy of the optical character recognition (OCR) process for Latin, Cyrillic including three main variations of the Cyrillic alphabet used in the Balkans: Bulgarian, Macedonian and Serbian, Hebrew and Vietnamese. An important new feature is the ability to switch to the front-facing camera of the smartphone.

The Regula Document Reader SDK for mobile platforms includes 7100+ document templates and the software reads all standard and non-standard MRZ formats, RFID chips, 1D and 2D barcodes and provides automatic data processing, as well as delivers a fully offline operation. This document verification solution is used by law enforcement agencies, flight booking and online check-in systems, fintech, banking and other organizations dealing with identity documents, including IATA.

In other company news, Regula has launched the Mobile Document Authenticator Regula 1120, a brand-new authentication device which can be easily connected to a mobile phone via Bluetooth LE. The devices uses UV365 LEDs for visualizing UV luminescence for another level of document authentication on your phone.

The Belarus-based developer and manufacturer of expert forensic devices and software recently showcased its solutions at Passenger Terminal Expo 2019 in London and at Passenger Technology Solutions in Hamburg Messe.
