ID R&D passive biometric liveness implemented for major telecom provider in Southeast Asia

ID R&D has announced a new partnership with software provider Innov8tif, which has integrated IDLive Face into its EMAS eKYC product to simplify remote customer account openings and digital ID verification. A major telecommunications services provider is now using EMAS with IDLive Face for self-service SIM registration.

The integration provides passive liveness detection to OkayFace, one of four components of EMAS eKYC, through ID R&D’s IDLive Face, bolstering Innov8tif’s anti-spoofing capabilities for stronger security and simultaneously enhancing user experience, according to a company announcement.

“Our goal is to help businesses deliver both customer experience excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements,” states George Lee, Innov8tif CEO. “After evaluating IDLive Face and piloting with customers, we found that we could deliver an experience not possible with our previous liveness solutions. ID R&D enables us to lower friction at the critical point of opening new accounts, thus reducing abandonment and user problems, but without sacrificing security.”

EMAS eKYC also features document capture, AI identity document checking, and identity proofing through online databases, the company says.

“Innov8tif’s motto of ‘no one wins unless everybody wins’ parallels our product vision of meeting the highest security needs while eliminating customer pain during the authentication process by rendering it invisible,” says ID R&D CEO Alexey Khitrov. “ID R&D’s IDLive Face prevents the most sophisticated spoofing attempts by confirming both the identity and the physical presence of the authorized user, and doing so without any effort required from the user. With our flexible architecture and deployment options, Innov8tif can easily introduce liveness detection and biometric authentication across its product suite for fast, secure, and convenient KYC and onboarding.”

Khitrov recently discussed the company’s passive biometric liveness technology with Biometric Update.

ID R&D says the partnership marks the first publicly-announced customer for its IDLive product in Southeast Asia.
