Yoti provides biometric digital identity for employee references and student app

Yoti is providing its technology to enhance the online reference-checking system of human resource technology company RefNow, and has also partnered with student app and website native for passwordless sign in and secure ticket purchases.

London-based RefNow allows companies to seamlessly and reliably request online pre-employment checks of candidate references, after completing a 30-second process, according to the announcement. The candidate adds contact details for their references, as the system automatically contacts each one to complete the reference through the company’s portal.

“I’m very pleased about our partnership with Yoti – it will allow RefNow to increase the robustness of our referencing process by verifying the real identity of the candidates and referees who use our system,” says RefNow Co-founder James Fall.

“By adding the individuals real name as shown on their ID document, in addition to their verified work email address, Yoti will be helping to reduce referencing fraud, making opportunities in the job market fairer for everyone.”

The partnership with native is intended to protect university students against data breaches, while also increasing the accessibility of student-focussed events, according to a separate announcement.

“We’re excited to partner with Yoti on our mission to improve the university experience,” states native CEO and Founder Nick Musto. “By being able to verify your identity in-app, our users are one step closer to effortlessly going to and enjoying the best events in their city.”

Yoti raised over $10 million in funding on a valuation of more than $100 million to fuel its global expansion, the company announced weeks ago.
