Daon has announced John Sanders has joined the company as President of Emerging Markets to lead the global expansion of its biometric identity platform capabilities.

Sanders has held key executive positions at three start-ups, and has built a track record of working closely with customers, building sales revenue, and assisting in the development and deployment of innovative security technologies. He co-founded Reveal Imaging Technologies, which grew to an industry leader in threat detection and screening products before being acquired by SAIC, according to the announcement.

Sanders has also served as Chief Technology Officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS’s) Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where he was a key member of the TSA PreCheck’s establishment and implementation. Sanders also served as Chief Operating Officer and Acting Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

“We are delighted to welcome John to Daon as President of Emerging Markets. John is an accomplished leader and brings a breadth of proven performance from the private sector and government,” comments Daon CEO Tom Grissen. “Daon is on the forefront of delivering identity solutions to the world’s most iconic brands, and John’s experience will complement the team as we continue to expand into new markets.”

“I believe Daon is well positioned to rapidly grow,” said Sanders. “The company has a strong team of people, inspired leadership, and proven technology that holds solutions for a wide range of markets, including those in which I have deep experience. Two of my fundamental goals are to find ways to simplify and improve the user experience, while keeping people and data safe. Working with Daon will give me ample opportunity to achieve both goals. I am excited to be part of this impressive team.”

Sanders has also been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors, a role he currently holds with Anderson University, and has held with Evolv Technology, OGSystems, and American Science and Engineering.

Daon launched a new version of its IdentityX Digital Onboarding solution in July.
