Acuant enhances ID capture and biometric liveness detection capabilities
With competition in the ID check and selfie user authentication market growing, Acuant has enhanced the image capture and biometric liveness test capabilities that are core to its Acuant AssureID and Acuant Face products.
With the enhancements, Acuant says it now offers the lowest-friction ID capture solutions for better user experiences and higher acceptance rates. The technology not automatically detects the document type and geographic region to reduce the number of steps taken by consumers. Four common image capture issues, cropping, blur, glare, and resolution, are also addressed with auto-correction to reduce failures and abandonments.
Three levels of liveness detection are available from Acuant Face, for different use cases and levels of risk. The company says its Acuant Face: Enhanced is certified by NIST and iBeta for liveness detection, and is the most robust solution on the market.
“Rising accounts of synthetic identity fraud have underscored the importance of being able to quickly verify customers, especially in a mobile-first world,” says Acuant President and CEO Yossi Zekri. “Our partners rely on us to continuously evolve and keep up with new fraud challenges, such as image spoofing and deepfakes. We strive to deliver what we believe are the most all-encompassing, secure and seamless solutions on the market.”
The company has also been recognized by Gartner as a “Representative Vendor” in the latest “Market Guide for Identity Proofing and Corroboration,” which states that the market research firm is continuing to observe a significant increase in interest for remote identity document verification solutions.
Acuant recently added its AssureID to the IdentityMind Platform Ecosystem to broaden its availability to enterprises in regulated industries.
